Software Development Services on a Steady Monthly Retainer
Our software development services give you reliable development capacity every month without hiring in-house. Your dedicated Exoshore team builds custom features, connects your systems, fixes bugs and maintains the code your business depends on, with one U.S. point of contact keeping priorities, progress and costs clear.
The backlog keeps growing and the freelancer stopped answering
Most growing businesses have a list of software work that never gets done: an integration between two tools, a customer portal feature, a report that still takes hours by hand, a bug everyone has learned to work around. Hiring a full-time developer is expensive and slow, and one-off freelancers come and go. Meanwhile, the workarounds keep costing your staff time every day.
When the person who wrote your code disappears, you're left with a system nobody understands and no documentation. Small fixes turn into big projects. What most owners need is steady, accountable capacity: a team that learns your systems, works through a prioritized list and explains what it's doing. That is the kind of partner we aim to be.
What you get with software & website development
Custom features
New functionality for your website, web app or internal tools, built to your priorities and reviewed with you before release.
Integrations
We connect the systems you already use through APIs, so data moves between them without manual copying.
Bug fixes
Reported issues are triaged, fixed and tested, with urgent problems moved to the front of the line.
Ongoing maintenance
Dependencies, frameworks and libraries are kept up to date so your software stays secure and stable.
Code in your accounts
Work lives in repositories and hosting accounts you own, with company-managed logins and clear documentation.
Clear hour tracking
You can see how the monthly hours were used and what shipped, so there is no mystery about where the time went.
What software development services on retainer mean for your business
Progress every month
A set block of hours means your backlog actually moves. Projects that sat for a year start shipping in steady increments.
Continuity you can rely on
The same team learns your codebase and writes things down. You're no longer one departure away from a system nobody understands.
Less manual work for your staff
Integrations and small automations remove repetitive tasks. Your team spends more time on customers and less on copy and paste.
Budget you can plan around
A flat monthly retainer is easier to plan than surprise project invoices. You decide what gets prioritized within it.
A good fit if you are…
- Businesses with a growing list of software requests and no in-house developer
- Companies whose original developer or agency is no longer available
- Teams that need two or more business systems connected and syncing reliably
- Owners with a custom web app or customer portal that needs regular care
- Growing firms that want a dedicated developer without the cost and delay of hiring

Software & website development questions, answered.
How much do your software development services cost?
Starter is $1,500/mo for about 40 hours, Growth is $3,000/mo for about 80 hours, and Premium is $5,000/mo for a dedicated developer. Any one-time setup is quoted in your proposal. Hosting, software licenses and third-party tools are billed separately at cost.
Who owns the code?
You do. Code lives in repositories and hosting accounts that belong to your business, using logins you control. Everyone on your team signs an NDA. If you ever leave, the code, documentation and access all stay with you. We'll also hand over admin rights on day one.
Can you work on software someone else built?
Yes, in most cases. We start by reviewing the existing code and setup, tell you honestly what shape it's in, and recommend whether to maintain, refactor or rebuild specific parts. That review is part of getting started. If something is risky, we say so before touching it.
How long until we see results?
It depends on the size of the work. Small fixes and improvements often ship in the first few weeks. Larger features are broken into stages so you see progress along the way. We'll give you a realistic estimate for each item, not a guarantee.
What is the contract length?
There is a 3-month minimum, then month to month. Prepaying a year gets you 2 months free. You can move between tiers as your needs change, so you're not locked into more hours than you need. Unused hours and priorities are reviewed together each month so the plan stays realistic.
